Our Outreach Services
In addition to centre-based rehabilitation, the Outreach team at Headway Devon have addressed the need to provide services to people in their own homes and in their own communities.
Outreach is a one-to-one service, tailor-made to meet the needs of the individual client.
The Headway Devon Outreach team's 34 outreach workers provide support to over 74 clients, their carers, and families. The service complements the support which we offer at centres.
Because every client is different, no outreach session is the same. Most sessions are between three and four hours long, delivered regularly as agreed in advance. Working towards agreed rehabilitation objectives, each Outreach worker will engage their client in practical, meaningful and enjoyable activities, which help them towards achieving these goals and increased independence.
In the past year, our staff have supported clients during fishing trips, driving lessons, and on social excursions, with an emphasis on enabling as well as rehabilitation.
