Exmouth town crier helps out with Headway Devon fundraising

Exmouth's town crier will led a procession of staff and volunteers from Headway Devon's Exmouth centre as part of an event to raise funds and awareness.

The civic herald will led the Headway Devon group out of its regular home in the Open Door Centre on Church Street at precisely 11am on Thursday 3 April. The group made its way towards the town centre where they will took part in fundraising and awareness raising events.

Clients and staff at Exmouth's Headway Devon centre have been busy with fundraising events recently. Earlier this month, an Easter coffee morning was held to raise funds to pay for further activities at the centre - netting £45.

A spokesperson for Headway Devon said: "Everyone is very excited about this event, and we're delighted that the town crier is helping us out as this will help to make sure that we are noticed on the day.

"We think that it is very important that everyone in Exmouth and East Devon understands the profound impact that brain injuries can have on a person's life.

"Often such injuries are hidden from view, which makes this more difficult. Hopefully, through events such as Action for Brain Injury week, we can improve the lives of people with brain injuries across Devon."

Action for Brain Injury week started on 31 March and runs until 6 April. Anyone who could help with fundraising activities should call Nick on 01392 224437.
