Bring and buy in Honiton for brain injuries centre
The sale will take place from 9am-12.30pm on Saturday 2nd June in Mackarness Hall on Honiton’s High Street.
Centre manager, Jackie Wheadon, says, “Events like this are a great way for us to raise funds for the centre and let people know about the vital work that is going on right here in the local community.
“Our plant sales are always popular in Honiton and we’ve got a great mix of plants, some grown at home and some generously provided by Mole Valley Farmers. We’ve had lots of lovely items donated for the bring and buy and there will be plenty of delicious cakes and flapjacks to buy on the day. As well as the stalls, there will be space for people to escape the bustle of the High Street and sit down to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee.”
“We’re also encouraging people to bring along any good quality bits and pieces that they were looking to rehome or take to a charity shop – every donation is very welcome.”
All funds raised at the sale will be used to improve the services available to people with brain injuries through Headway Devon’s day centre in Honiton. The centre provides weekly support to people who have survived head injuries, stroke, brain tumour, meningitis and many other illnesses and accidents, but have been left facing difficulties and disabilities as a result.
