AGM rounds off a productive year

A challenging but positive year was rounded off successfully with Headway Devon’s Annual General Meeting on 11th October.

As well as serving a formal purpose in signing-off the last year’s financial accounts, this meeting also offers an opportunity to reflect back on the last year and catch-up with perspectives and achievements across the organisation.

Many of the previous year’s landmark achievements were discussed at the meeting with particular attention paid to our new series of respite breaks and the launch of Headway Devon’s personal care service, which complements our existing Outreach programme and means that people with brain injuries from across the county can now access Headway’s specialist support for all of their needs. The meeting also celebrated the progress of many individual clients, as well as recognising the work that has been made possible thanks to the generosity of Headway Devon’s charitable funders and donors.

This year’s key-note speaker was Natalie Clapshaw, one of Headway Devon’s centre managers, whose presentation gave a valuable insight into the day-to-day workings of Headway Devon’s rehabilitation centres and shared some recent accomplishments by centre clients.

During the meeting our Chief Executive, Anne Mattock, also led a short tribute to our late founder Dr Chris Williams and a one minute silence was held to remember Chris and his contribution to Headway Devon.
