John Lewis finishes a fantastic first year with donation to Headway

2013 John Lewis DonationHeadway Devon were delighted to receive a cheque for £1,860 from John Lewis in Exeter at a special presentation to mark their first anniversary in the city.

The money was raised through the store’s Community Matters scheme, which distributes £3,000 to local charities every three months, and was topped up by staff, who have taken part in a range of fundraising events to celebrate the Exeter branch’s special birthday.

Paul Bird, Headway Devon’s Learning and Development Manager, attended the cheque presentation and commented “We are delighted to receive this donation from the team at John Lewis and the knowledge that this was voted for by the customers and that the total was boosted by the staff’s own fundraising efforts means a lot to us. This money is very gratefully received and will be used towards our building appeal, as we strive to raise enough funding to purchase the X Centre on Exeter Quay, and provide a permanent home for our specialist services for people with brain injuries in the city.”
