Hats for Headway Day Tea Party

On Friday 16th May, Headway Devon’s day centres celebrated Action for Brain Injury Week with a tea party for people with brain injuries from across the county.

Taking place at the XCentre, Headway Devon’s new HQ on Exeter Quayside, the tea party was a chance for people who benefit from Headway Devon’s day centre services across Devon and Torbay to come together and enjoy a fun afternoon with food, games and activities, all while raising awareness of brain injury and the support available to local people.

As the event took place on the Friday of Action for Brain Injury Week, which is Hats for Headway Day, and attendees also wore their wackiest hats in a show of solidarity with other Headway groups and organisations up and down the country.

Headway Devon Communications Manager, Holly Keatings, says, “whether caused by injury, illness or accident, brain injury can strike out of the blue and can turn a person’s life upside down. For many people, life will never be the same again. Headway Devon hope that this fun, unique and attention-grabbing event has helped brain injury survivors to come together in a positive way to celebrate the new futures that they have created for themselves with Headway Devon’s support, and to raise awareness so that the charity can reach more of the people who need our help.”
