Huge cash boost thanks to Exeter Foundation
Headway Devon is delighted to have received donations totalling £2,093.19 from the Exeter Foundation – the official charity of the Exeter Chiefs Rugby Club.
The cheque was presented to Headway Devon Trustee Dave Tucker and Fundraiser Holly Keatings by Exeter Foundation Trustee Keiron Northcott and special Guest David Flatman at the Exeter Chiefs’ Season Launch dinner in August. The evening looked ahead to the next season for the Exeter Chiefs, as well as celebrating the achievements of the Exeter Foundation and its designated charities over the last season.
The donation to Headway Devon is one of many made to local charities on the night and follows a very successful year of fundraising by the Exeter Foundation, including a series of rugby collections at the Exeter Chiefs home games. As a designated charity for the last season, Headway Devon volunteers helped out with these fundraising collections by shaking their buckets at Sandy Park in September 2015.
Holly Keatings said, “We are delighted to be able to accept this cheque on behalf of local people with brain injuries. We were so pleased to hear that the Exeter Foundation has raised so much money this season and are very grateful to the Exeter Foundation Trustees, the Exeter Chiefs and their fans, and of course our own supporters who helped us with our collection at Sandy Park.
“The money raised by the Exeter Foundation is very gratefully received and will be used towards our work in the Exeter area to make sure that local people with acquired brain injuries are able to get the support that they need.”
