Community Team Lead

Location: Newton Abbot

Hours of Work: 37.5hrs

Responsible to: Community Services Manager

Type of Contract: Permanent

Salary: £20,525.70 pro rata per annum

Headway Devon are looking for a compassionate and caring person to join our Community Support Team in the role of Team Lead in Newton Abbot. This is a rewarding and challenging role, which involves enabling people to live independently and achieve their goals.

A qualification in care or equivalent is desirable, but not essential as full training is provided. People from all backgrounds are welcomed.

This is an exciting full-time position for someone with proven leadership skills and a love of outdoor pursuits, such as climbing and kayaking. The role will involve providing support for clients in crisis and where needs are more complex, supporting new staff and clients, and making relationships to generate more local referrals.

What Makes Working for Headway Devon so Special?

Whatever role you are in, you will be part of a team making a real change to people living with Acquired Brain Injuries. Community Support work can be very varied, with activities ranging from assisting someone to plan and cook healthy meals, through to special day trips out around the region.

At Headway Devon we encourage and support all our staff to be individuals, and to use their talents and experience to enable our clients to live independently and achieve their goals.  In particular this role would suit someone who is interested in supporting clients with indoor and outdoor activities such as climbing and kayaking.

We offer a more balanced working day than many other sectors, providing sufficient time for staff to spend with clients meeting their needs.  This means no visits are less than 1hr in duration, and reasonable travelling time is scheduled between appointments for staff. This not only helps us to provide a quality service in which our client’s needs are met, but also ensures our staff are able to do their jobs without feeling rushed or pressured.

What We Offer

Whether you want to work part-time or full-time, we can offer a wide range of flexible hours and working arrangements.  We offer a competitive salary with paid travel time and training.
